SERVIER JOINS THE ACT4NATURE INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVE
The Group has strengthened its commitment to biodiversity by integrating it into the corporate social responsibility strategy.
Servier has joined Act4Nature International, a voluntary commitment initiative in favor of biodiversity. By taking this step, Servier undertakes to comply with the 10 joint commitments outlined by Act4Nature as well as individual commitments incorporated into the CSR strategy.
SMART commitments
The Group’s commitments are focused on four areas:
- Evaluating and reducing the impact of products on biodiversity
- Reducing sites’ impact on biodiversity
- Raising awareness and developing skills on biodiversity issues
- Participating in biodiversity protection projects
These four priority areas stem from an impact study carried out within the Group in 2021.
The Act4Nature steering committee, made up of environmental NGOs, business networks, and scientific partners, has approved the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) of Servier’s commitments, thereby ensuring rollout within the Group.
“By joining Act4Nature, we reaffirm Servier Group’s commitment to biodiversity with specific actions that respond to the challenges facing the planet,” declared Vincent Minvielle, Group CSR Director. Among the actions initiated: reducing the environmental impact of our industrial chemical synthesis, through the deployment of ‘Green Score’, an internal evaluation tool, and obtaining in the future the BiodiverCity® label for the Servier Research and Development Institute, which will open its doors in 2023 in Paris-Saclay.”
